Elizabeth Blazick is a board-certified vascular surgeon with extensive clinical experience in all areas of vascular surgery, as well as significant experience in research and medical education.

Beth earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Biology and Chemistry from Springfield College, followed by her graduate level Certificate of Completion in Physician Assistant Studies from Springfield College/Baystate Health Systems. She worked as a physician assistant in a busy trauma center in Tampa, Florida while later simultaneously completing her Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of South Florida. As a medical student, she was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha academic honor society as well as the Arnold P. Gold Humanism Honor Society. She was awarded the Tampa General Hospital Scholarship, the Bailey Family Foundation Medical Student Scholarship, the Watson Clinic Award for outstanding research and received the Florida Chapter of the American College of Surgeons’ Ambrose Pare Award as one of the top medical students in the state pursing a surgical career.

She completed both her General Surgery Residency and Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Fellowship at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Before joining The Vascular Care Group, she was an attending vascular surgeon at Maine Medical Center, where she also served as the Program Director for the Integrated Vascular Surgery Residency. She was appointed the rank of Assistant Professor of Surgery at Tufts University School of Medicine. There, she actively participated in both clinical and industry research, including several large multicenter trials.

She is an active member of the Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS), the New England Society for Vascular Surgery (NESVS), the Vascular & Endovascular Surgery Society (VESS), and is an American College of Surgeons (ACS) Fellow. She was recently awarded the Society for Vascular Surgery’s Leadership Development Award. She continues to serve as a reviewer for several vascular surgery publications.

Outside of her work in the field of vascular surgery, Beth serves as a board member for Hope on a String, a nonprofit to fund a community center in Haiti. She lives with her family in South Portland, where in her free time she enjoys working with the local pug rescue organization and traveling to destinations a bit off the beaten path.
